We have been so blessed to have had the chance to work with so many super nice couples and Gabriela and Luis just kept that streak going. In fact, saying they were nice just seems like such an understatement! Elena and I are glad that we had the opportunity to spend a day with two such sweet people.
Our job is interesting for lots of reasons, but one of the things we like the most is how well we get to know our couples in just a day. We spend the entire day around them, watching them, looking at them through our cameras waiting for that cute moment. One of the things we've learned about our job through the hundreds of weddings that we've done is that we really get a true glimpse at who people are by watching them all day and seeing how they interact with others. It seems like some people are looking for things that go wrong...even when everything seems perfect. Others just focus on what's really important...the celebration with friends and family...and don't worry about the little details. Gabriela and Luis definitely fall into that second group of people. The weather was completely uncooperative! It rained and was cloudy and dreary. What did Gabriela and Luis do? Got an umbrella and took pictures in the rain! Their positive attitude was so awesome to see and such a great way to start their lives together.
Because of the rain, Gabriela and Luis' ceremony was held inside Redbud Hall. But, we were still able to find some dry places outside to take pictures before the ceremony. Gabriela and Luis decided not to see each other before the ceremony, but they did a "first touch". They held hands around the corner of the building and prayed together. It was a really sweet moment. After groomsmen and bridesmaids pictures, it was time for the ceremony to start. Gabriela and Luis' ceremony was perfect!
When it came time for Gabriela and Luis' pictures together, we were kind of at a loss as to what to do. The rain had mostly stopped, but it was still drizzling and everything was completely wet. Luckily, Gabriela and Luis were good sports and the weather didn't bother them at all. They grabbed an umbrella and off we went. And the results? Only some of the cutest pictures we've taken!!! It was so much fun to spend a few minutes with the newlyweds taking pictures and just being able to enjoy their upbeat, awesome personalities!
The rest of the evening was equally awesome! There was dinner. There was dancing. There were some really touching toasts. It was the perfect celebration!
Gabriela and Luis, thank you so much for including us in your big day. Elena and I had a wonderful time with you and wish you many, many years of love.
