We had such a great time with Danica and Nathan! Twice! Their engagement session was so creative and fun. Danica and Nathan are such laid-back people. We really loved hanging out with them. And, we loved hanging out with them even more on their wedding day. We traveled to Shiner, TX for Danica and Nathan's ceremony and then another short drive to their reception in Cuero. Their wedding ceremony was at one of the most beautiful Catholic churches we have seen. Every picture we took was awesome! After the ceremony, we spent a few minutes taking family pictures before heading over to the reception hall.
It was pretty hot outside so we all decided to do pictures of Danica and Nathan later in the evening. That gave Danica and Nathan a chance to mingle and chat with their friends and family. It was fun to watch everyone congratulate the couple. Dinner was great! One of our favorite parts of the evening was the toasts. Danica and Nathan's friends told the story of how they met. Then it was Nathan's turn to talk. He took a few minutes to individually thank and toast those who had helped with the wedding. In true German fashion, Nathan would recognize people and then count (in German), "One, two, three...Prost!"
After the toasts, Nathan and his groomsmen broke out their instruments and played a few songs. We were all so impressed! It was cute to see how Danica looked at Nathan as he played. When the impromptu concert ended, we had a chance to go outside with Danica and Nathan for a few pictures. There just happened to be a HUGE cardboard bottle of Shiner in the reception hall and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use it as a prop in a few pictures. The newlyweds suffered through the heat to appease our desire for more pictures and we were so thankful. Once we finished with their pictures, it was back into the air conditioned reception hall. When we got back in, it was time for Nathan to show us his dances moves. We all had such a great time watching Nathan dancing for Danica! All this time we thought Nathan as kind of shy...
Danica and Nathan, thank you so much for sharing your day with us. Elena and I are so glad that we had the opportunity to spend a few days with you. We wish you many, many years of happiness! Prost!
