Amy and Ryan's Wedding on Mount Bonnell in Austin, TX

November 23, 2016  •  1 Comment

Amy and Ryan's wedding was one of the coolest and most unique weddings we ever done.  This super cute couple was referred to us by some friends of theirs whose wedding we shot several years ago (thank you Stacy and Michael!).  And, we were so glad that Amy and Ryan decided to let us be part of their day.  Not only are Amy and Ryan a beautiful couple, but they are super positive and friendly people...the perfect combination!

We met Amy at a house in west Austin where she was getting ready.  Elena stayed with her while I traveled to Amy and Ryan's house to get pictures of the guys getting ready.  One of the huge advantages of having two photographers is being able to be in two places at once.  While Elena was getting pictures of the girls getting ready, I was able to spend a few minutes with Ryan and his groomsmen.  Once everyone was dressed, it was time to make our way over to Mount Bonnell for Amy and Ryan's ceremony.  I remember meeting with Amy and Ryan and them telling me that their ceremony was going to be on Mount Bonnell.  I immediately thought, "What a brilliant idea!  I can't believe we haven't done this before."  The setting for their ceremony was just surreal!  We go to so many wedding venues where everything is geared towards the "industry" of weddings.  And, here was a couple that chose nature and beauty over conformity and custom.  It was an awesome experience!  We were so glad that Amy and Ryan decided to think outside the box with their ceremony.  And, their pictures are beautiful!  (Of course, with a couple as cute as Amy and Ryan, pretty much any picture we took of them was beautiful.)

After the ceremony, everyone made their way over to the reception area.  Dinner was great and it was topped of with one of my favorite desserts...Nothing Bundt Cakes.  Good choice!  :-)  The toasts at Amy and Ryan's wedding were very sweet.  There were laughs and tears, but more than anything else there were lots of very kind words about Amy and Ryan that showed just how special they are to their friends and family.  At the end of the evening, Amy and Ryan left to cheers and sparklers.

Amy and Ryan, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding.  Thank you for being so kind and friendly (and patient).  Elena and I loved spending the day with you and wish you many, many years of love and happiness!
