I usually start blog posts by telling about how the day began. But, I have to start Vanessa and Jason's wedding blog post with how the day ended. Through a cloud of bubbles, Vanessa and Jason ran outside, gave each other a kiss, and jumped into their car. Before driving off, Vanessa looked at Elena and I and said, "We love you guys! Thank you so much!" Wow! Vanessa probably didn't realize it when she said those two short sentences, but those were very powerful words to Elena and I. We work so hard at our job. We try to take the best pictures we can and give clients a product they will be proud of for their entire life. But, even more importantly, we want our clients to look back on the time they spent with us and be glad that they spent it with us. There are (literally) thousands of people in Austin who call themselves wedding photographers. We want our couples to really be glad that they chose us to be a part of their day. Hearing Vanessa's words just affirmed to us that we are doing something right. And...just for the record...Vanessa and Jason, we love you guys, too!
After an engagement session with Jason and Vanessa and a bridal shoot with Vanessa, we felt like going to Vanessa and Jason's wedding was just a trip to see old friends. Gabriel Springs is a beautiful venue and Vanessa and Jason's decorations made it look even better. When we arrived, Vanessa and the girls were busy getting ready. Jason and the guys arrived and got dressed...and then took a nap. I'm talking crashed on the couch and one of them asleep on the floor. It was really funny and great to see that Jason wasn't having a problem with nerves.
Vanessa and Jason's ceremony was beautiful! It was great to see so many people there to support them as they began their life together. We had fun taking family and wedding party pictures. Then we got to spend a few minutes with the couple taking pictures of them alone. Based on our previous experience with Vanessa and Jason, we knew that their wedding pictures would be great! We had a wonderful time laughing and talking as we took pictures.
Once all of the official stuff was finished, everyone made their way inside for the reception. Andy with Austin Classic DJ was on hand to emcee the evening and keep everyone dancing. He, of course, did a great job of that. We were also very, very pleased to debut our brand new photo booth at Vanessa and Jason's wedding! It was fantastic to see everyone having such a great time! Everyone was enjoying themselves and it was a shame for the evening to end.
Vanessa and Jason, we love our friendship with you. We had such a great time with you both. We wish you many, many years of happiness together!
Wait a minute...I thought I had finished writing, but I haven't. One more thing!
