We were so glad that we had the chance to take pictures of Jennifer and Adam's wedding. We almost didn't. There were some mix-ups with their first venue and Jennifer and Adam had to change venues at the last minute. We were concerned that they might have to change the date of their wedding if the new venue didn't have it available. And, we didn't have anything else open in June. We were so glad when we got the call from Adam telling us that a venue had been found and the date would remain the same. And, Jennifer and Adam ended up with such a cool venue. Star Hill Ranch is such a neat and unique wedding venue. Although the change undoubtedly caused some stress, Elena and I were both pleased that Star Hill Ranch was the final choice for Jennifer and Adam's wedding.
Several months before the wedding, we had the chance to spend an afternoon with Jennifer and her mom taking bridal pictures at the Zilker Botanical Gardens. It was so much fun! Jennifer is a beautiful young lady and her bridal pictures were just awesome. We enjoyed getting know both Jennifer and her mom just a bit before the wedding.
On the day of the wedding, we arrived at Star Hill Ranch and found the girls in the bride's cabin getting ready and the guys unloading beer from the bed of a truck. All of the decorations were already in place and the venue looked great! Jennifer and Adam decided to have their wedding outside in front of the chapel to accommodate the large number of guests the anticipated. It was a great decision because the little white chapel made for a great backdrop for their ceremony.
Before the ceremony, we spent some time with Jennifer and Adam taking pictures. They decided to do a first look and, like always, it was great! We then found some neat spots around Star Hill Ranch to take pictures of the couple. Once we finisehd with their pictures and pictures of the wedding party, Jennifer and Adam parted ways before the ceremony. One of the best moments of the day was when Jennifer's dad saw her for the first time. He just couldn't contain his emotion.
Jennifer and Adam's ceremony was a perfect combination of laughs and I do's. After the ceremony and some family pictures, dinner was served. Any dinner that includes BBQ ribs must be categorized as a great dinner! The rest of the evening was what I would imagine a small town wedding 150 years ago looked like. Everyone gathered together on the center street of the town, the bride and groom making their way around to all of the guests thanking them for coming, and dancing and laughter the entire evening. It was really a great celebration!
Jennifer and Adam, thank you for choosing us to be your photographers. Thank you for working with our busy schedule and trying to find a new venue that was available when we were available. We would have hated to have missed this evening with you! Congratulations again on your marriage!
