We were so glad that we had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Jessica, Nathan, and their families. Their wedding at Casa Bella was a wonderful celebration! This was one of the few weddings where we didn't have the opportunity to meet with the bride and groom prior to the wedding. We met them for the first time when we arrived at the venue. And, from the very first moment, Jessica and Nathan made us feel like family. They were always so kind and patient with all of our picture requests.
Elena and I were so impressed to see how helpful all of Jessica's bridesmaids were throughout the day. Anything she needed they were there to help her. Jessica's mom (who was her matron of honor) was just awesome all day! Before the wedding, she was running around all over the venue doing her best to make sure that everything was just perfect for her baby. And, it was. Everything looked great!
There was one bit of a snag right before the wedding. I was standing at the alter with the pastor and Nathan. We were chatting before the ceremony started. Nathan's best man came running up to us with some bad news. He couldn't find the rings. I immediately felt bad for him. The pain and worry on his face was just almost too much to bear. We didn't really know what to say to him other than, "Keep looking." When the ceremony started, we still weren't certain that the rings had been found. But, when it came time for the Jessica and Nathan to exchange rings, it became clear what had happened. Nathan's best man had put the rings in the inside pocket of his jacket when he was getting ready. While everyone was getting dressed, the jackets got mixed up and some of the guys grabbed the wrong jackets. When the pastor asked for the rings, Nathan's best man calmly walked over to Jessica's father and asked him for the rings. At first he didn't understand the question. Then he reached into his pocket and found the rings. Everyone had a good laugh. The look of relief on the best man's face was priceless.
The rest of the evening was not near as stressful! Dinner was fantastic. The reception was so much fun. There wasn't a dry eye in the place as Jessica danced with her father. Once the dance floor was open, people danced the whole night.
Jessica and Nathan, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding. We wish you many years of happiness together!
