Oh my...it was COLD outside!!! The skies were grey and there was a cold mist falling. It wasn't typical Central Texas weather. Luckily, Laura and James aren't typical people because they weren't bummed one bit about the weather. Elena and I had such a great time with them the entire day. They were positive and fun and excited regardless of the weather. That is exactly the spirit that couples should have on their wedding day.
Not only was Laura positive and fun and excited, she was also really, really tough!!! Laura was determined to get the best pictures possible and she was willing to suck it up for a while to get the pictures she wanted. So, in 33 degree weather, we all went outside and did a first look, bride and bridesmaid, groom and groomsmen, and family pictures. We were all really cold (my fingers were frozen in the shape of a camera grip), but nobody could complain because Laura stood out there the entire time in her strapless wedding dress. We applaud her willingness to tough it out and were so glad that we had the chance to take some great pictures outside at Texas Old Town.
Laura and James' first look was so cute! We love that moment when the groom turns around and sees his bride for the first time. I think Laura wanted to immediately jump inside James' jacket with him. After their first look, we made the wedding party brave the cold for a while. We were even able to do all of the family pictures before the ceremony. It was really nice that Laura and James gave us so much time prior to the wedding for pictures.
Their wedding was inside Redbud Hall at Texas Old Town. Laura did a fantastic job of decorating the stage area for the ceremony. After the ceremony, the curtains were pulled back and the DJ entertained Laura and James' friends and family all night. They had originally planned to stay until midnight to celebrate New Year's with their friends and family. But, as the evening began to wind down, Laura and James realized that they were really tired so they decided to celebrate the New York new year. We all counted down together and kisses were exchanged. What a great way to ring in a new year!
Laura and James, congratulations on your wedding. Thank you for being so positive and upbeat even when the weather didn't cooperate. We wish you many more New Year's celebrations together!
