Elena and I were so excited that Crystal and John's wedding had finally arrived. After shooting the engagement session, we couldn't wait to spend another day with them. Even though Crystal is a beautiful young lady who could be a model if she wanted and John is a really popular, high-energy DJ, both of them are such down-to-earth, polite, regular people. What we really liked wasn't just that they were polite with us. It's easy to be polite with guests. Crystal and John were so polite and nice to each other during their engagement shoot. And, that really cool relationship continued on the day of the wedding!
Crystal and John's wedding was held at a John's sister's house in San Antonio and it was beautiful! It was very kind of his sister and her husband to open up their home to Crystal and John's guests (and photographers). There were tons of little details everywhere for us to take pictures of. It was obvious that Crystal and John had spent a lot of time planning their wedding. And, all of their planning paid off because everything was beautiful. Just before the ceremony, we took first look pictures with Crystal and John. They were awesome!!! The ceremony took place in the backyard by...well, overlooking...the swimming pool. It was probably the most unique location for a wedding ceremony we have ever seen. After the ceremony, we took a few family pictures and then headed into the reception.
Because John is a professional DJ, we expected the reception to be hoppin'...and we weren't disappointed! Several of John's DJ buddies took turns manning the mixer board throughout the evening. We were really excited when John took his turn playing the tunes. It was awesome to watch him work. He didn't just hit the play button on his sound board and then look for the next song. John was moving, dancing, mixing. It was really fun to watch! At one point in the evening, we stole Crystal and John for just a few minutes and went outside to take a few more pictures. And, these pictures were so, so fantastic! Elena and I were so glad that we had the chance to take these last pictures with them.
Crystal and John were so easy to work with the entire day. Anything we asked they did. If we wanted a few minutes for more pictures, they agreed. If the first look pictures were taking a bit longer than we expected (because Crystal and John are so fun to take pictures of), Crystal didn't stress. In fact, she told me to keep taking pictures and that her guests could wait for just a few more minutes. Every time Elena or I would use that dreaded photographer line, "Just one more picture," they would look at us with a smile and say, "Of course! No problem!" It was just so easy.
Crystal and John, congratulations again on your wedding. Thank you for finding us at the bridal show in San Antonio and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding celebration!
