Emily's Bridal Session

May 09, 2013  •  2 Comments

When Emily and Bobby left our house, Elena and I turned around and gave each other a high five!  We were excited to have the opportunity to work with them.  They were both very nice and super friendly.  But, what we both noticed was that Emily and Bobby both had a certain charm about them that we loved.  We were sure that their wedding would be fun.  And, we couldn't wait for Emily's bridal shoot.

Thank you to Texas Old Town (one of our favorite venues, www.texasoldtown.com) for letting us come early on a Sunday morning to take pictures.  Emily was beautiful!!!  We couldn't have hoped for a better bride to take pictures of.  Emily, being a musician, brought some of her instruments with her and that added perfectly to the photo shoot.  Emily's mom and dad were there with us and made great assistants, being willing to hold lights or reflectors or fix the dress.  It was great to have so much help!

Not only were Emily's parents great help, but they are a great example for Emily and Bobby (and for Elena and I, as well).  Having been married 40 years, they give us young'uns someone to look at, admire, and emulate.  What a great resource and example that is for Emily and Bobby as they begin their lives together.

When choosing a song for a bridal slideshow, we usually try to find something that the bride likes.  This time, we indulged Mom and took a suggestion that she sent our way.  Emily, thank you for a fun morning!  We look forward to seeing you, Bobby, and your entire family in just a few weeks!

Tearing up...the elegant sweeping gown and Emily's cowboy boots...the cowboy hat and guitar against the silhouettes of this delicate bride...the perfect Tony Bennett song highlighting the humor and wonder and openness in Emily's style. Everything from setting to the subject is absolute perfection.
